Product Designer

YOU

You’re a driven and empathetic product designer who turns a deep understanding of customers into simple and elegant designs, like a tree inhaling CO2 and exhaling oxygen. Clean, intuitive and beautiful oxygen.

You’re an obsessive problem solver who approaches situations holistically so you can understand the big picture before starting any wireframes. You know how to design solutions that optimize for multiple, sometimes competing goals. You do whatever it takes to understand customer psychology and needs - whether interviewing customers face-to-face or poring through usage data.

You work extremely well in teams, but you're not afraid to give your opinion.

THE ROLE

Bombfell is seeking a product designer to take charge of revamping our entire customer-facing experience, from signup to woa-those-jeans-make-my-butt-look-really-good. You’ll craft the user experience and visual design across web and mobile, all the way to physical packaging and inserts.

This is an extremely entrepreneurial position in a flat and rapidly growing organization, and the fruits of your work will be seen and directly used by hundreds of thousands of people. You'll work directly with the founders and with engineering, creative, customer support and marketing to create a seamless experience that oozes our brand and is dead-simple to use.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work hand-in-hand with operations and customer service to deeply understand user needs, confusion and pain points in using Bombfell
  • Create goal-driven wireframes and visual designs that elegantly solve for multiple objectives and are dead simple to understand and use
  • Lead projects from concept to execution with accountability, organization and attention to detail
  • Provide guidance to graphic design department

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of relevant experience and a college degree
  • Advanced skills with wireframing tools
  • Fluency with Adobe suite of products including but not limited to Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS preferred, but not required
  • Ability to optimize designs for user experience, business goals and browser compatibility
  • An eye for creating elegant, yet intuitive and simple solutions
  • An indomitable work ethic
  • Able to take direction and constructive feedback
  • The perfect candidate has worked on nimble, execution-focused early-stage startup teams and will have a portfolio of specific examples to review (preferably within e-commerce and across both web and mobile).

Data Scientist

YOU

You can not only program recommendation engines in your sleep, but also adapt and learn from their real-world applications. You pay close attention to detail and strive to create a better product. You love working on something that makes people’s lives easier.

THE ROLE

This is a tremendous opportunity to take on a leadership role in the Data Science efforts of a rapidly growing startup.

You’ll mine data for insights that will be translated directly into product. You’ll build your own cutting-edge models in trying to craft solutions to a wide range of interesting problems, from analyzing customer behaviors to implementing machine learning algorithms to statistical modeling/analyses.

You’ll work directly with the founders to more intelligently build out an innovative and rapidly scaling product that reaches hundreds of thousands of people, and ride the forefront of the next wave in e-commerce.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in machine learning algorithms and analysis
  • Strong skills in statistics and probability
  • Familiarity with databases
  • Can code (preferably in Python)
  • Prior experience creating and deploying recommendation engines
  • Prior experience analyzing data to mine insights
  • Skilled in data visualization
  • Possess degree in technical field of study (PhD preferred)

THE ROLE

You'll learn how to be a professional developer and make yourself tons more valuable to startups, and work on cutting-edge problems that you won't see in a classroom. You’ll work closely with the founders, design, engineering and product teams to implement and release product into the wild. Your code will touch hundreds of thousands of people. You’ll join a fast-moving team that continuously pushes code to production.

This is an internship role with possibility for full-time employment.

Customer Experience Representative (Part Time, Nights & Weekends)

YOU

You’re a super friendly, detail-oriented Customer Experience Representative who will serve as a soothing balm on the inflamed skin of our clients who need help. You will be a first line resource for customer service questions and investigations during evening and weekend hours (Eastern time). This is a part-time, remote position with somewhat flexible hours.

Note: Outstanding employees can be considered for full-time employment after the first 90 days in the role.

THE ROLE

  • Deliver above-and-beyond customer service over email to ensure our members remain happy, fat Hobbits
  • Quickly and thoroughly solve problems for members when deliveries or experiences don't go as planned.
  • Master our internal ticketing and back-end system in order to efficiently and effectively process requests
  • Think creatively about ways in which we can optimize each customer’s experience
  • Channel recurring customer issues to product teams so that we can continuously improve the service

YOU MUST

  • Be able to work weekends (approx. 7 hrs each day) and evenings up to 28 hrs per week
  • Be tech-savvy and have access to a reliable laptop and internet
  • Be SUPER DUPER DUPER detail-oriented

Part-Time Stylist (Work From Home)

Do you have an eye for fashion? Do guys come to you for advice?

Bombfell is a monthly subscription for men's clothing built to enable guys who lack time or don't know what to buy to dress well. Members tell us their wardrobe needs and we send them a personalized selection every month. We're hiring part time stylists who will work from home and select clothing for Bombfell members using a custom-built online styling platform.

responsibilities

  • Style users using our online styling platform
  • Respond to feedback clients leave on orders within an appropriate time frame
  • Review the user’s past shipment history, style preferences and social media accounts to choose the best items from inventory for each client
  • Accommodate all user request notes to the best of your ability
  • Write genuine, friendly and professional notes to users
  • Partner with our customer service team to help resolve user issues
  • Utilize an online timesheet system to carefully keep track of all hours worked
  • When working, respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback regarding the online styling platform, company software, assortment of inventory and common user requests to our management team

requirements

  • Availability that coincides with business needs and ability to work between 20-30 hours each week
  • Access to a reliable laptop and internet
  • Retail experience preferred
