THE ROLE

We're looking for a sharp, driven and passionate recruiter to help scale our team to the next level. You will work directly with the founders and executive managers to recruit for junior to senior level positions. This is a 100% onsite position in our NYC office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the recruiting process through entire candidate lifecycle
  • Partner with internal hiring managers to define talent requirements and develop sourcing strategy to execute on business needs
  • Build and maintain external networks by proactively searching for active and passive candidates through networks and active sourcing
  • Source, screen and hire stylists to support Bombfell growth targets. Proactively promote the Stylist opportunity and build a talent pipeline
  • Work with the hiring teams to ensure the interview process runs smoothly and efficiently, with an obsessive focus on candidate experience
  • Build and maintain the Bombfell employment brand
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Create systems and processes to track metrics and provide founders with regular recruiting updates
  • Look for ways to continually improve our recruiting process

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of high-volume recruiting experience at a high-growth company

Vice President, Finance & Administration

THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, the position is a newly created position that will be primarily responsible for most back-office functions. Working closely with the founders, the VP F&A is expected to be an active participant in leading the firm's financial analysis and will be responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance with the firm's cash management, financial, tax compliance and other internal policies.

JOB DUTIES: FINANCE

Primary responsibility for controllership functions:

• Manage all General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and related functions

• Prepare quarterly and annual U.S. GAAP-basis financial statements for partners, banks and investors

• Coordinate external audit of annual financial statements

• Coordinate timely preparations of tax and regulatory filings as needed

Primary responsibility for financial planning and analysis:

• Prepare annual operating budgets in conformity with the Company’s strategic business plan

• Monitor operations to ensure compliance with budgets and provide management appropriate advance notice of important actions that may need to be taken

• Prepare monthly budget to actual reporting

• Provide meaningful analyses of operations and recommendations for operational improvements to management

Primary responsibility for all Treasury functions:

• Establish bank relationships, cash accounts and appropriate internal controls over cash accounts

• Serve as primary Security Administrator for online banking system

• Serve as Program Administrator for corporate credit card program

• Optimize the management of cash reserves and debt facilities to maximize interest earnings and minimize interest expense

• Coordinate timely collections from customers

• Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts and planning

Establish appropriate expense processes and controls over all vendor relationships, particularly discretionary expenses, including:

• Inventory

• Travel and expense policies

• Systems and IT costs

Evaluate and implement new systems, processes, and controls, as appropriate

JOB DUTIES: HUMAN RESOURCES

Recruiting and terminations: ensure smooth and effective onboarding and transitioning, including all paperwork

Oversee and administer compensation and benefits programs:

• Work with senior management on the development of comprehensive compensation planning, including use of benchmarking surveys

• Oversee weekly and semimonthly payroll processing, as well as annual W-2 and 1099-MISC preparation

• Administer benefits programs, including annual plan renewal negotiations and open enrollment for:

o Medical/Dental/Vision

o Short- and Long-Term Disability

o Transportation reimbursement

• Administer the company’s equity compensation (stock option) plan

Implement and monitor programs to ensure compliance with Federal and state employment laws and regulations, e.g.:

• FLSA and state wage and hours regulations

• FMLA, COBRA, ADA, etc.

Work with senior management to implement and monitor periodic performance assessments

JOB DUTIES: IT & SERVICE PROVIDERS

Serve as primary Point of Contact (“POC”) with outsourced IT services provider, to ensure the effective and cost-efficient provisioning of:

• IT Network infrastructure

• Application management and licensing compliance

• Information Security

• Laptop support

Serve as primary liaison with other IT providers:

• SaaS-based vendors

JOB DUTIES: LEGAL & RISK MANAGEMENT

Implement and monitor programs to ensure compliance with corporation laws and regulations:

• Jurisdiction requirements (e.g., Delaware franchise tax compliance and reporting)

Provide initial review of business terms in all third-party contracts (especially with major vendors)

Serve as primary liaison with insurance broker and manage policy renewals and claims

JOB DUTIES: FACILITIES

Serve as main point of contact landlord, custodian, security

Oversee major office build outs, renovations and moves

JOB DUTIES: OTHER

Actively participate in the management of operations by:

• Communicating with senior management, investors and bankers

• Making suggestions to improve policies, processes, and internal controls

Perform special projects, including preparation and maintenance of the business plan, and analysis on an as-needed basis

REQUIREMENTS

The applicant will need:

• Prior experience in a venture-backed company is a plus

• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial and general ledger systems

• A solid grasp and appreciation of internal controls and policies

Executive Assistant / Office Manager

ABOUT:

Do you love keeping people organized and on target for success? Bombfell is looking for a kickass team member to be a hybrid Executive Assistant (EA)/ Office Manager (OM) who will act as the backbone of our day-to-day operations at our New York City HQ. Daily responsibilities include organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to maximum efficiency in addition to providing professional administrative support to our founding team. Additional responsibilities include processing payroll, answering benefits questions, assisting with the full life-cycle recruitment process and organizing the performance review process.

EA/ OM Responsibilities (75%):

  • Coordinate and facilitate the three founders' calendars to arrange appointments, meetings, and conferences, ensuring that each is knowledgeable of the schedule 24 hours in advance.
  • Be agile and swift with the exciting and ever-constant changes and demands of a startup in a professional manner while maintaining competency.
  • Analyze and anticipate the needs of the founders while being able to foresee potential roadblocks and take proactive steps to foster smooth operations.
  • Understand organizational policies and procedures necessary to guarantee appropriate decision-making protocols are followed.
  • Meet and greet clients and visitors to our HQ.
  • Schedule and initiate phone and video conference calls (troubleshooting technical glitches as necessary).
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, scanning, mailing, and filing.
  • Manage supply and procurement of office supplies and equipment.
  • Liaise with building security and building management as necessary.
  • Supervise cleaning and maintenance service providers.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, obtain authorization and then signature on all checks for payment.
  • Promote the Bombfell culture.
  • Make travel arrangements; prepare itineraries; and prepare, compile and maintain receipts and records for reimbursement purposes for founders.

Back-Office Responsibilities (25%):

  • Execute on back-office functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Verify I-9 documentation
  • Request and assist with new employee background checks
  • Assist with recruitment and interview process/ prepare new employee files
  • Assist with the preparation of the performance review forms
  • Compile payroll data such as expense reimbursements and process payroll
  • Welcome new hires and manage new employee onboard process

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of Administrative Assistant experience; startup experience highly preferred

Client Services Representative (Remote On Weekends)

THE ROLE

Bombfell is seeking a detail-oriented Client Services Rep who will serve as a soothing balm on the inflamed skin of our clients who need help. You will be a first line resource for customer service questions and investigations. The perfect candidate loves to document and improve processes, measure results, prioritize ruthlessly and just flat out get things done. You must be available for the following shift:

Wed-Fri: In the office during normal daytime hours

Sat-Sun: Work from home any time between 8:00am-12:00am (You do not need to work 8 hours consecutively in one day).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a full-time or part-time student working towards a degree; related major a plus
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours (maximum of 30) each week
  • Internship is paid and students must be able to receive pay regardless of whether or not they are obtaining school credit

Product Designer

YOU

You’re a driven and empathetic product designer who turns a deep understanding of customers into simple and elegant designs, like a tree inhaling CO2 and exhaling oxygen. Clean, intuitive and beautiful oxygen.

You’re an obsessive problem solver who approaches situations holistically so you can understand the big picture before starting any wireframes. You know how to design solutions that optimize for multiple, sometimes competing goals. You do whatever it takes to understand customer psychology and needs - whether interviewing customers face-to-face or poring through usage data.

You work extremely well in teams, but you're not afraid to give your opinion.

THE ROLE

Bombfell is seeking a product designer to take charge of revamping our entire customer-facing experience, from signup to woa-those-jeans-make-my-butt-look-really-good. You’ll craft the user experience and visual design across web and mobile, all the way to physical packaging and inserts.

This is an extremely entrepreneurial position in a flat and rapidly growing organization, and the fruits of your work will be seen and directly used by hundreds of thousands of people. You'll work directly with the founders and with engineering, creative, customer support and marketing to create a seamless experience that oozes our brand and is dead-simple to use.

YOU WILL

  • Work hand-in-hand with operations and customer service to deeply understand user needs, confusion and pain points in using Bombfell
  • Create goal-driven wireframes and visual designs that elegantly solve for multiple objectives and are dead simple to understand and use
  • Lead projects from concept to execution with accountability, organization and attention to detail
  • Provide guidance to graphic design department

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of relevant experience and a college degree
  • Advanced skills with wireframing tools
  • Fluency with Adobe suite of products including but not limited to Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS preferred, but not required
  • Ability to optimize designs for user experience, business goals and browser compatibility
  • An eye for creating elegant, yet intuitive and simple solutions

THE ROLE

This is a tremendous opportunity to take on a leadership role in the Data Science efforts of a rapidly growing startup.

You’ll mine data for insights that will be translated directly into product. You’ll build your own cutting-edge models in trying to craft solutions to a wide range of interesting problems, from analyzing customer behaviors to implementing machine learning algorithms to statistical modeling/analyses.

You’ll work directly with the founders to more intelligently build out an innovative and rapidly scaling product that reaches hundreds of thousands of people, and ride the forefront of the next wave in e-commerce.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in machine learning algorithms and analysis
  • Strong skills in statistics and probability
  • Familiarity with databases
  • Can code (preferably in Python)
  • Prior experience creating and deploying recommendation engines
  • Prior experience analyzing data to mine insights
  • Skilled in data visualization
  • Possess degree in technical field of study (PhD preferred)

THE ROLE

You’ll have a hand in architecting major parts of our product and scaling it out to millions of users. You’ll work on the early stages of our mobile app development and work on logistics and software dealing with physical inventory. You’ll join a fast-moving team that pushes code every day.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3-4 years experience in a similar role, preferably at a start-up
  • E-commerce experience with conversion optimization preferred
  • Ability to code full-stack: CSS/JavaScript (JQuery and the like), a server side language (like Python or Ruby), and a database language (SQL-like languages)
