I think we can all agree that children of celebrities ride the wave of their parents’ fame. Although that’s true in most cases, Griffin Musk is one of the few who broke that stereotypical image.

Griffin decided to lead an unexpected lifestyle, one that contrasts with his father’s. How? That’s what I aim to cover in this post.

Griffin Musk’s Biography

As you might guess from the name, Griffin Musk is the son of Elon Musk, the famous business veteran and CEO of Tesla. Being the son of one of the most famous people on earth, you’d think we know a lot about Griffin.

That couldn’t be farthest from the truth, though, as he doesn’t share much about himself with the public. We know Griffin was born on April 15, 2004, in Los Angeles, California, making him 19 as of writing this post.

He lived in various other countries throughout his life, like Canada and South Africa. Contrary to what most people might think, Griffin didn’t go to a famous, prestigious school.

However, his father stated that he enrolled his children at Ad Astra School, which he founded with Joshua Dahn. The school offers various courses on AI, applied sciences, and coding. So, I don’t think anyone will be surprised if the kid turns out to be tech-savvy.

Griffin Musk’s Family

Elon Musk has made sure covering Griffin’s family wouldn’t be as easy as it should be. Let’s see what that means.

Justine Wilson

Griffin’s mother, Justine Wilson, is a Canadian author with various short stories and novels to her name. She went to Queen’s University where she earned a degree in English literature. That’s also where she met Elon for the first time.

After graduating, Musk and Wilson started dating. In 2000, they got married and welcomed Griffin’s older brother, Nevada Alexander, two years later. Unfortunately, Nevada soon passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

His death took a toll on Elon and Justine. They decided to conceive their future children by In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) to increase their chances of survival. That’s how Griffin was born.

He and his brother Xavier are twins, although Xavier later changed his gender and started identifying as a woman. Griffin’s remaining siblings, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, are triplets.

Unfortunately, Griffin’s family didn’t last long after his birth, as Elon and Justine separated four years later. Wilson stated that Elon treated her like a staff member rather than a life partner, constantly overruling her judgment.

Interestingly, Kai, Saxon, and Damian aren’t the last siblings Griffin would grow up to have. After his parents’ divorce, Elon went on to have multiple children with other women. Although none of these children are his biological siblings, they’re still part of the Musk family tree.

Grimes

Grimes

Elon and the Canadian musician, Grimes, had a complicated relationship. They dated on and off for almost four years. Their first child, born in 2020, raised a few eyebrows because of his unusual name, X Æ A-Xii — X, for short.

The following year, the couple conceived their daughter, Exa Dark, or Y, via surrogate. For the longest time, people thought those were the only children they had together.

However, Elon Musk’s biography indicates they had a third child, Techno Mechanicus, or Tau.

Shivon Zilis

Elon went on to have twins with Shivon Zilis, one of his employees at Neuralink, right before Exa Dark was born. He kept Griffin’s new siblings a secret for a while because he didn’t want Grimes to know. Of course, Grimes found out eventually and was furious.

Griffin Musk on Social Media

As we’ve already established, Griffin prefers to keep a low profile. That doesn’t just mean you won’t see him on red carpets or in public events. No, he’s not even on social media, which is ironic since his father is the owner of one of the biggest social media platforms in the world.

That said, you can still find multiple pictures of Griffin on the internet. His father also shares some of their moments together on his social accounts.

Griffin Musk’s Love Life

At the time I’m writing this post, there aren’t any signs that indicate Griffin is in a romantic relationship. You can attribute that to him steering away from public life.

However, as the son of one of the richest men in the world, having a girlfriend would’ve caught a few people’s eyes. We would’ve at least seen a photo or two on the internet. So it’s safe to assume that he doesn’t.

Griffin Musk’s Career

19 years old, Griffin hasn’t pursued any career paths, as he’s currently focusing on his studies.

Griffin Musk’s Father

The only reason Griffin has any public recognition is his father. If you haven’t been living under a rock, you probably heard of Elon Musk.

He’s made various contributions to the tech world after all. Some of them were innovative. Others were controversial.

Musk showed incredible potential at an early age as well, learning programming when he was only 12. He graduated college with a science degree, then his career took off.

Zip2

In 1995, Elon partnered with his brother, Kimbal, and friend, Gregory Kouri, to start Zip2. It provided computer users with maps, directing them to local services.

Over time, Zip2 grew, and Elon collaborated with big entities, providing business directories to The New York Times and The Chicago Tribune. Eventually, though, Elon sold Zip2 to Compaq Computer Corp for $307 million.

SpaceX

Elon founded SpaceX to make space flights more affordable. The company had a rough start, with its first model, Falcon 1, failing to reach orbit in 2006. After various failed attempts, though, the company successfully launched that model into orbit.

Since that moment, SpaceX has become a leading entity in space exploration, launching various crafts into space and having them return safely.

Tesla

Believing that electric cars are the future of transportation, Elon co-founded Tesla to make his vision come true. The company found quick success with its first model, the Roadster.

It became a symbol of innovation and creativity. With each new model, Tesla presents new convenient features, like autopilot, falcon-wing doors, and more.

Twitter

In 2022, Musk acquired the American Social media company Twitter, for $44 billion.

Wrapping Up

Despite being the son of one of the most successful men in the world, Griffin hasn’t had an easy life. His parents separated four years after his birth, and his father dated several women afterward and had multiple children.

That said, Griffin still chose to lead a regular life, focusing on his studies and steering away from social media and the public eye.
