Born on May 7, 1993, in London’s Havering borough, Will Ospreay always had a passion for wrestling. As a young child, he was a devoted fan of light-heavyweight wrestling. He found early inspiration in performers like Essa Rios and Eddie Guerrero.
However, it was a legendary three-way match between AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe at TNA Unbreakable 2005 that convinced young Ospreay to pursue wrestling as a career.
His journey began in his backyard, where he performed under the playful moniker “Extreme Dude” on a trampoline. Seeing her son’s dedication, Ospreay’s mother supported him by buying him a wrestling ring – this was also to make sure he remained safe while practicing.

There’s one controversy that stands out in Ospreay’s career. It occurred during the Speaking Out movement. He faced accusations of blacklisting female wrestler Pollyanna after she made allegations of sexual assault against his friend Scott Wainwright.
While the Independent Wrestling League initially claimed Ospreay had requested Pollyanna’s removal from a show, they later clarified that the venue, not Ospreay, had made that request.
The social team running IWL’s Twitter account eventually admitted their statement was based on an “unclear situation” rather than concrete evidence.
This incident sparked important discussions within the wrestling community about power dynamics and accountability. It also went to show how hard female wrestlers have it.

As for his relationship status, Will had one with fellow wrestler Bea Priestly that ended in 2021. Ospreay found love again with British wrestler Alex Windsor. He’s also the stepfather to Windsor’s son from her previous marriage to Ospreay’s late best friend, Ryan Smile.
